2012 brought its share of sweat and tears but also
its share of smiles and laughter…For me, it was certainly a growing year. I
always say that I like a challenge, and I learn from them. :)
I am so thankful for the opportunities to lead and
learn at my contextual education site, House of Prayer Lutheran Church, further solidifying
that this is my call. :) I am so thankful for everyone there, for the chance to
spread my wings in ways that I haven’t done before. :)
I also did things I never thought I would do…From
that, one of the most memorable moments for me was running the Disney Princess
Half-Marathon on February 26th. It was my first trip to Florida (and
first vacation in YEARS)…I had the chance to visit the “happiest place on earth”…My
first exposure to “Disney World” was running 13.1 miles through it! LOL February
26th is a day of a lot of significance for me…In 2010, my sister
Char passed away…In 2011, we said good-bye to my grandma…In 2012, I ran a
half-marathon. Friends of mine also reached this milestone in Florida: Katy, Debbie,
Dawn M., and Dawn G…Congrats to you all! :)
February 26th, 2012, a day treasured…Holding
my loved ones in my heart…It was on a Sunday morning, and I will always
remember the Gospel choir that was singing towards the end of the race…Hearing
the songs “Don’t Stop Believin’” (which would be my 2012, even my life, anthem)
and “Stronger” during the race, to motivate us all onward…And, running the race
every step of the way with Katy…Whenever I think of this experience, I
get choked up, in a good way, because the emotions surrounding it are so strong…I
can’t help but smile. :)
What will 2013 bring? Only God knows…We take each
step in faith, seeing only in part…Exactly a year from now, I have NO idea
where I’ll be, as I will be on internship somewhere…Scary, yes, but also very
exciting…The possibilities are endless. Trusting the One Who knows all…Is that
easy? Of course not. But what freedom it brings when we lay down our worries
and replace it with the peace that surpasses all understanding. :)
I am thankful for my family…Thankful for the friends
I have made this year and the friends who have stayed…All of y’all’s love, prayers,
support, and encouragement mean the world to me and make the difference…May
your 2013 be full of much love, joy, peace, hope, laughter, and MANY blessings!
Oh, and throw in some coffee and warm fuzzies, too. ;)
Love, peace, and blessings to you all! Here’s to a
happy, healthy, and hopeful 2013! :)
